V teaches yoga, Pilates and somatic movement methods individually, or as a fusion class which provides the benefits that all of these great systems have to offer. Whether you choose to study and practice a method individually, or all of them together, you’re assured of achieving some of your wellness goals and thus performing and living at your best — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

V Shelton is a certified and experienced Pilates and yoga instructor.

V has been teaching yoga, Pilates (classical and contemporary) and somatic movement for over twenty-five years throughout the Unites States. V Shelton offers in-person & online:

  • One-on-one and semi-private instruction in yoga, Pilates, and somatic movement - all levels

  • Group classes and workshops

  • Customized plans and programs for home, work, and travel so you can reach your desired goals

  • Corporate wellness programs and events

  • Specially designed programs and videos for individuals and companies

  • Meditation and breath work training for more clarity of mind, focus, relaxation and good health

  • Seventy-five-minute consultations and introductory sessions which include a fitness interview and assessment, and an introduction to yoga, the Pilates Method, or somatic movement technique.

    V Shelton is passionate about encouraging and inspiring people of all ages and fitness levels to experience the benefits of yoga, Pilates and somatic movement. Her mission is to help others understand the principles of safe, effective and fluid movement, and to teach them to perform their daily activities and favorite sports with greater control, awareness and ease.

    V has trained synchronized swimmers, professional golfers, tennis pros, dancers, and equestrians, as well as many people who just want to feel better moving. She also has experience working with those who are rehabilitating and recovering from serious injuries and illness, so they are assured of practicing at their own level of fitness and conditioning.

    V also teaches breathing and meditation techniques to improve focus, concentration, and relieve emotional stress.

    • Introduction to Somatic Movement; Rhythmic Somatic Yoga

    Throughout her career V has designed and coordinated fitness and wellness programs throughout the United States and has taught at a variety of corporations, studios, private clubs, and wellness centers,

    V can design a specialized presentation, class, workshop or program specific to your company’s needs, goals, and location.

    This may include:

    • Wellness programs and workshops in yoga, meditation, and stress management for corporate sites

    • Corporate events, celebrations and team building activities focused on a special yoga, meditation, or Pilates class.

    • Online classes and specially designed on-demand videos

    • Instructor training and mentorship in yoga and Pilates.

V will plan and host an event that will leave you and your guests with wonderful new memories of your very special occasion!

  • Meditation

    V Shelton offers mediation and mindfulness training via workshops and private instruction.

    If you’ve ever wanted to start a meditation practice, or practice with a new perspective, V will introduce you to the foundations of meditation techniques, discuss the differences between these methods of contemplation, and guide you step-by-step in choosing a practice right for you and your current lifestyle..

    Included will be short periods of gentle yoga stretching and breathing exercises that can be done seated in a chair or standing.

What is Somatic Movement?

Somatic movement is based on how the body (soma) feels while exploring our own particular experience of moving and breathing, rather than how it might look from the outside. Somatic movement training is a very physical practice often built on a series of gentle movement and breathing patterns and exercises that focus on releasing tension and old patterns of holding, plus postural and neuromuscular imbalances. This internal awareness can help us learn (or remember) how to move more freely, comfortably, efficiently, and with less pain.
